Reconnecting With VMR
"Those of us who had the privilege of helping launch VMR, from 1966 to 1970, share the immense satisfaction of seeing its spectacular evolution each time we return to Charlottesville. It was truly a labor of love (and sweat) that keeps paying back. We shared with today's crews the core attraction that keeps so many under the influence of rowing—the thrill of teamwork and of making boats go fast!"
—Steve Plott, '70, Product Marketing Manager for Caterpillar
Sometimes an alumnus/alumna rowed at Virginia for one or two years, but not for all four. As a result, some feel disconnected from the Virginia Rowing family. VMR wants to reestablish the connection! If you're visiting this site, then you're interested in the status of the team. You are most certainly part of the family, and you are welcome at any race, practice, or alumni gathering. The same is true for any four-year rower who has lost touch with members of his/her class or team.
If you'd like to receive our e-mail newsletter each semester, just click on the "Update Your Information" tab, and we'll get that out to you. You'll be able to read about the current team, as well as about alumni, racing, training, and so on. We'd love to see you at our races! We'll help you reconnect with former friends and with the crew in general.
